Certificated candidates should have a minimum of 5 years experience and demonstrate ability to

  • plan and implement an experiential, problem- or project-based curriculum for twelve 7- to 12-year olds
  • manage and supervise a multi-age classroom and evaluate student progress
  • communicate regularly with parents

They should have relevant training and experience with

  • a literacy program that includes reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, viewing, and producing
  • a math program based on problem solving
  • integrated, theme-based curriculum development
  • cross-age collaborative learning.

Applicants must be

  • able to interpret students' academic, social and emotional behaviors based on current child development research
  • eager to participate actively as part of a faculty-parent team which shapes the school's growth, policies, and educational practices.

This position will be filled by an experienced person who can effectively coordinate the daily activities of students and respond to varied demands with integrity, energy, creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor.

The application consists of the four short answer questions that follow and space to upload your resume and up to three portfolio/presentations that you created. Although only the resume is required it is to your advantage to include examples of your work.

The four questions are:

  1. What materials are indispensable to effective mathematics instruction in the elementary grades? Why and how would you use them?
  2. What strengths do you have that contribute to working collaboratively?
  3. How would you use Oasis' small school setting to "challenge, encourage and enable all students to realize their capacity to enrich the communities in which they live, work and play”?
  4. Describe your ideal school’s educational practices and atmosphere.
